The State of Evidence-Based Design Research is a webinar presentation that provides an overview of the scientific research published on the design of healthcare enviorments and the relationship between healthcare design and patient outcomes.

This presentation provides an overview of the scientific research from a large volume of rigorous studies published since 2004. It explores the relationship between the design of healthcare environments and patient and staff outcomes from quantitative point of view.  The presenters also share insights on the strength of evidence for particular environmental components, and identify gaps in the evidence base that call for additional research efforts.

Webinar Learning Objectives

  • Obtain an overview of research findings and their implications
  • Learn about particular environmental components that point to positive outcomes
  • Understand new guiding principles for hospital design

This presentation is based on a white paper that was produced as part of a grant funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

About the Speakers
