It provides an overview of the four-phase model for undertaking investigations with detailed discussion of the first phase: Prepare. Learning how to think like a seasoned investigator is a critical first step for training your staff how to properly carry out investigations that may later be subject to review by outsiders.

About the Speakers
Michael Amo (MS, CNHA) is the Founder and Principal of The Amo Group LLC. He created The Amo Group, LLC, to help long-term care organizations and facilities implement improvement strategies regarding abuse prevention and prohibition. He holds masters degrees in interpersonal communications with an emphasis in social psychology and health services administration. He is a nationally certified nursing home administrator and a licensed New York State nursing home administrator. He worked for over 20 years in long-term care management, including as deputy director of a 275-bed inpatient psychiatric hospital in New York State. In these capacities he oversaw education and training and quality assurance programs. His responsibilities also included response to and investigation of hundreds of incidents.
Niki Lee Rowe (MA, CALA) is a Principal of The Amo Group LLC. She holds a bachelor's degree in health services administration with a minor in clinical psychology. Her master's degree is in Clinical Psychology with a specialty in gerontology. Ms. Rowe is licensed in the state of New York as a mental health counselor and is a nationally certified assisted living administrator. She has been an administrator for stand-alone Alzheimer's facilities in California and for innovative facilities for the severely mentally ill. She established and operated a home healthcare agency in California and has worked as a geriatric case manager.
Bruce Arnold Bruce Arnold is a retired Lt. Colonel with the New York State Police and is a specialist in investigation principles with 30 years of experience with the New York State Police. Mr. Arnold retired in 1999 to become a Licensed Private Investigator is now also a town judge in New York state. While with the NYSP, Mr. Arnold oversaw hundreds of police investigations and taught criminal investigation courses. In his capacity with The Amo Group, Mr. Arnold has taught practical investigative skills to long-term care providers. The depth of his understanding of investigation principles in long-term care is unsurpassed.
