A designer from KMD and a unit director from Hoag Memorial Hospital will present a case study of the new critical care tower at Hoag Memorial Hospital in Newport Beach, CA, focusing on the patient bed floors. This project team was committed to maximizing flexibility and evidence based design concepts, resulting in an acuity adaptable floor.

About the Speakers

 

Lari Diaz, Planning Director, KMD Architects

Lari Diaz is a Planning Director with KMD Architects in San Francisco. She has been a team leader in the capacity of Senior Medical Planner on multiple projects including Hoag Memorial Hospital in Newport Beach. Her diverse background, ability to steamline communications and complete project goals serves to ensure quality results for her clients . Ms. Diaz has been involved in most of KMD's recent projects involving inpatient bed units and has been directly involved in the evolution of the design for these units from project to project.



Deborah Lepman, RN, CEN, MPH
Department Director, Cardiac Critical Care Units
Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian


Deborah Lepman has 31 years of experience in the field of nursing, including 27 years of progressive management level experience in Healthcare Institutions. She has served as the department director for the cardiac critical care units at Hoag since 2000. Before that, she was a department director at Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center. She has also worked as a clinical consultant for one of the world's largest medical supply manufacturers.
